U.S. markets were closed Sunday. Trump told Walmart to absorb tariff costs, while Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent warned that rates could return to Liberation Day levels without trade agreements. China's April industrial production rose 6.1%, above the 5.7% estimate, and unemployment eased to 5.1% from 5.2%. Nvidia abandoned another Hopper chip for China under U.S. restrictions, while Nvidia, TSMC and Foxconn announced a Taiwan AI supercomputer partnership. Trump also began calls with Putin and Zelenskyy to pursue a Russia-Ukraine ceasefire.
