QQQ ended 1.25% below its previous close and SPY fell 1.04%, leaving SPY ahead by 0.21 percentage points. June consumer sentiment was 60.5 versus 53.5 expected and 52.2 prior. One-year inflation expectations were 5.1% versus 6.4% expected and 6.60% prior, while consumer expectations were 58.4 versus 49.0 expected. During the following 15 minutes, QQQ fell 0.12% and SPY fell 0.03%.
Meta invested $14.3 billion for a 49% stake in Scale AI, valuing the company at $29 billion. CoreWeave sold its entire Applied Digital stake, and Google later planned to split from Scale AI after Meta's deal. The Meta report was followed by a 0.01% dip in QQQ and a 0.04% rise in SPY during the next 15 minutes.
