Microsoft was reported to be discussing custom chips with Broadcom, while Apple chip chief Johny Srouji was reportedly considering leaving. DDR4x spot prices had risen more than fourfold year to date, and PC makers were considering price increases of up to 20% as memory and storage costs climbed.

DDR4x spot prices had risen more than fourfold year to date and downstream inventories remained low. Dell, Lenovo and other PC makers were reassessing 2026 product plans and considering price increases of as much as 20%.
