Iran ceasefire progress accompanies a late surge as QQQ outpaces SPY

QQQ rose 2.83% and SPY gained 2.23%, with technology ahead by 0.60 percentage points after both ETFs opened lower. Late reports said Trump agreed to suspend attacks on Iran for two weeks, Iran-U.S. talks would begin on April 10, and the Strait of Hormuz could remain safely navigable during that period. Earlier data showed private employers adding an average 26,000 jobs per week, headline durable-goods orders falling 1.4%, and core orders rising 0.8%. One-year inflation expectations increased to 3.4%, while higher EIA oil-price forecasts and Fed comments kept inflation risk in focus. Intel, Anthropic, Apple, Microsoft and Nvidia supplied a separate AI and semiconductor theme.
